Our story

London Veg Box was born amongst the Covid-19 crisis. Seeing our close family and friends struggling to access fresh produce and essential food items we jumped to help out. Word of mouth spread fast and within weeks we were providing fresh produce and essential items to hundreds of homes across South West London and beyond.

Helping the community

What started out as a small project to help friends and family quickly turned on its head as we saw the growing needs of local people and charities within our SW London community. We launched the ‘Donate a Box’ scheme, bringing us and local charities together to provide tonnes of food to the elderly and vulnerable on a weekly basis.

Supporting our local suppliers

We wouldn’t be anywhere without the fantastic fruit and vegetable suppliers at New Covent Garden Market – many of whom have been seriously impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. Located next to our home in Battersea we saw first-hand the impact the current pandemic was having on the traders, with their normal customer base usually consisting of top restaurants and hotels in London, which have been forced to close.

By ordering a box through us you will be providing much needed support to the wholesale industry, while also enjoying the high quality and amazing fresh produce in the comfort of your home!

Sustainability

We are committed to preserving and enhancing the world we live in and are continually trying to reduce our carbon footprint in everything we do. We have already implemented a number of ways to reduce our carbon footprint by reducing delivery days and optimising delivery routes, reducing plastic in food packaging, re-using boxes and targeting zero food waste – all while ensuring the upmost safety of our customers and team.

The Team

From week 1 we’ve formed a small but mighty team of fantastic individuals to help deliver boxes and work behind the scenes. A number of them have been impacted by job losses, furloughed or just want to lend a helping hand.

Our Commitment

There is no playbook for a global pandemic and we will continue to grow and adapt as best we can to adhere to the demands of our consumers, the people and charities we support and government guidelines.

Regardless of this, we will not waiver from our commitment to making a lasting and positive impact in the community – all while staying fresh!
